Fire Watch Course (MCS-TR-HSE-21)

 

Target Group
This program is designed to address the basic training requirements and the skills required for an individual to perform the duty as a competent Fire Watch.


Prerequisites
 Attendance on this training programme is open to delegates who have a valid Basic Fire Fighting certificate in which the principles of combustion, fire spread and fire extinguishment have been taught.

 ITEMS TO BRING:
All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original
or copy)
 HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course
commencement.

Training Objectives
  • The purpose of this course is to define the roles and responsibilities of all personnel with
    specific duties relating to fire watch. This involves the preparation of a work area, monitoring of
    the work, fire safety awareness and use of first aid firefighting equipment.

Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:-

- Roles & Responsibilities prior to and post Fire Watch duties
- Fire fighting equipment & it's deployment
- Access & Monitoring Procedures
- Communications
- Permit Controls
- Emergency Response Actions
- Personal Protective Equipment Requirements



  • Certificate for `Fire Watch' will be issued on successful completion of the
    training programme. The validity of the certificate is two years.
