Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health (MCS-TR-HSE-07)

 

Target Group
This qualification is aimed at those learners who work in an environment where coming into contact with
hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments


Prerequisites
 ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original
or copy)
 HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course
commencement.

Training Objectives
  • This qualification is aim to equipped learners with the more significant knowledge and more relevant skills to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them
  • Objectively the learners will cover the following subjects such as laws relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, risk assessments, safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace, control precautions and procedures for dealing with hazardous substances.

Course Content Examination and Certification

Learners will gain adequate knowledge, practical skills in the following areas:

1. Introduction to hazardous materials
2. Properties of hazardous materials
3. Recognize and Identify hazardous materials
4. Laws relating to hazardous substances in the workplace
5. Risk Assessment in relation to hazardous substances
6. Safe use of hazardous substances
7. Handling and Moving hazardous materials
8. Control Precautions in dealing with hazardous substances
9. Procedures in dealing with hazardous substances
10. Proper PPE in dealing with hazardous substances



  • The qualification is assessed via multiple-choice examination
  • All successful students will be awarded with a Control of Substances to Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Certificate, detailing their qualification and validity
